About me
Hello! My name is Tanya Lubbe and I am currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Florida majoring in Microbiology and Cell Science and Chinese Language and Literature. I am in the process of applying to graduate school and, following my graduation in May 2024, plan to attend a molecular biology/genetics master's programs abroad in order to advance my studies. I have an immense passion for language, animals, and genetics and hope to find a career that allows me exercise my knowledge in all.
This ePortfolio was designed to showcase my global experiences and overall journey throughout my time at UF as a culmination of the International Scholars Program. Feel free to browse through it to learn more about my undergraduate years.
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
Oscar Wilde
Having a Peruvian mom and South African dad I have developed a bit of a travel bug. Ever since I was little I have loved language learning and travel. I hope my studies take me far not just in a personal development sense, but also to new places all over the world.
There is just so much to see!
Hobbies
Lately I have become an avid reader; no matter the genre, if the synopsis is intriguing I am always willing to give a novel a chance. I am slowly making my way through the 4 Chinese classic novels, and plan to hit the 1001 Books You Should Read Before You Die soon!
In addition to reading, I enjoy exercising and staying active. If you don't catch me reading a book in between study sessions, I will be trying out a new fitness class at the rec center on campus!
